Leland, camera-shy? Not.

We decided to get some studio pics done for Leland, considering he's almost five months and because- well everyone else was doing it.

In my opinion, studio pics are sort of a rip off. You're definitely overpaying for "picture packages" that you have no choice but to buy. Everyone has 6.0 Mp+ camera nowadays and all it takes is that, a few bedsheets (different colors, if you'd like), good lighting and Costco.com and you're good to go.

I even know a few people who have Digital SLR's who are willing to take the pics for free. An even better camera!

But, to the studio Mommy went, with Leland. And we paid. And really, they turned out pretty good. Luckily it all kind of worked out really well. Parents know- babies have great days, good days, and just bad days. Mommy set it up so it would be a great day for Leland.

- A bath the night before: CHECK
- Good sleep the night before: CHECK
- Day of morning "care package" of a little playtime, Mommy's milk (from the source of course), and some more playtime: CHECK

Leland was ready. Of course, he ended up napping on the way to Babies R' Us where the studio is located, but he woke up ready to go. Check out these pics:

Its amazing how aware this kid is. He knows if we're taking a picture of him. Group pictures are a little different. But he knows when its a solo pic and he makes sure you get a good shot.

So we ended up paying for a package but we also received a CD with the full size pics in there. Even the lady taking the pictures suggested not splurging too much on a package and just printing our own elsewhere. And that we did. Thank you Costco!

Four Months!

Our little guy is now FOUR MONTHS OLD! Time flies. Since its summer, we've been out and about party-hopping and taking Leland out with us. He loves going out and being away from home or Grandma Lorna's house. At the Mall, Travis AFB, or parties, he's either sleeping or enjoying being carried.

Here are a few milestones for Leland so far:
- In two months (from 2-month Dr. appt to 4-month) he has gained four pounds! He's now a little over 14 lbs., which puts him in the 47th percentile. He's gained 8 lbs. since birth and is averaging 2 lbs. a month!
- With the help of weightlifting and shoulder shrugs (j/k), Leland can now hold his head up on his own (actually mastered this at two months) and can sit down without the assistance of pillows.
- When on his back, he can roll over on his side, and a few times has rolled fully onto his stomach, so we have to watch him even more now!
- Like Mom & Dad, the kid is talkative. Goo-goos, gah-gahs, etc. Non-stop.
- He can see a lot clearly now, so if you smile at him, he'll definitely smile back.
- He's starting to hold the bottle on his own, especially when he's hungry. GIVE ME MY MILK!
- TEETH! Almost. We can see it forming in his bottom gum, and he chews on everything (ask Mom!). He was super fussy the last couple of days for no reason, so we figured out he's teething.
- He still pees on you while changing his diaper. Not as frequent as before, but still potent.
- He can stand up on his legs with little support, and even walk while holding his hands. Walk before you crawl?
- He knows the camera really well! Check out how many pictures we have of him looking directly into the camera...

Here's Leland taking a bath... He loves water! Leland with Uncle Les... With Mommy at the Alameda Co. Fair!
